Azimuth Academy prepares technicians, aviators, veterans, and engineers for the certifications that define careers in RF communications, satcom, DAS, maritime radio, aircraft maintenance, and aerospace systems.
We serve the professionals who keep communications infrastructure running — on ships, in aircraft, inside buildings, and across the spectrum. Every course is built around actual exam question pools and real field scenarios, taught by credentialed industry practitioners.
We administer official FCC commercial radio operator license exams directly through our platform.
Access training on your schedule from any device. Perfect for active duty, contractors, and working technicians.
Our curriculum is designed to translate military communications and electronics experience into civilian credentials.
Elements 1 & 3. Required for aviation, maritime, and land-based radio transmitter maintenance and repair. The most-issued commercial radio license in the US.
Elements 1, 7, and 9. Internationally mandated for ships. Covers INMARSAT, NAVTEX, DSC, survival craft systems, and at-sea maintenance of distress equipment.
The CETa (Associate) is your entry point into the ETAI credential system. Covers DC/AC electronics, RF fundamentals, digital circuits, communications, and hands-on troubleshooting. Recognized by employers and DoD contractors worldwide.
DASI through DASD levels. In-building wireless systems for public safety, commercial cellular, and first responder coverage. GROL now required in all jurisdictions to work on DAS.
Identify and resolve RF interference using spectrum analyzers and direction-finding techniques. Covers every frequency band from LF through SHF — broadcasting, cellular, aircraft, LMR, and satellite.
VSAT installation, maritime and land-mobile terminals, link budgets, orbital mechanics, azimuth & elevation pointing, and system troubleshooting. Prepares for the Tactical and Certified SATCOM Specialist credentials from Aerospace Technical.
Elements 1, 3, and 8. Adds the Ship Radar Endorsement to your GROL. Required for installation, service, and maintenance of ship radar equipment. Essential for maritime electronics technicians.
Element 7. Internationally mandated for operating GMDSS equipment aboard SOLAS-class vessels. Covers DSC, INMARSAT, NAVTEX, EPIRB, and SART operation procedures.
Element 9. For technicians responsible for maintaining and repairing GMDSS equipment aboard vessels. Covers advanced troubleshooting and maintenance of all GMDSS subsystems.
Elements 1, 7, and 9. Combined GMDSS Radio Operator and Radio Maintainer credential. Full qualification for operating and maintaining all GMDSS equipment aboard SOLAS vessels.
ETA International General Communications Technician certification. Validates broad competency across communications systems including RF, fiber, networking, and signal distribution.
ETA International Microwave Radio Technician certification. Covers point-to-point microwave link design, installation, alignment, and troubleshooting for backhaul and communications infrastructure.
ETA International Practical Antenna Basics certification. Covers antenna theory, gain patterns, impedance matching, feed systems, and practical installation techniques across frequency bands.
ETA International Radar Technician certification. Covers radar principles, pulse and CW systems, phased arrays, tracking systems, and maintenance of radar equipment for aviation and maritime applications.
NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician credential. The industry-recognized certification for aviation electronics and avionics technicians. Covers aircraft electrical systems, navigation, communication, and radar systems.
Each path is a structured sequence of certifications building toward a defined career outcome. Start where you are. End where the work demands.
The core FCC + ETAI path. Opens doors in aviation, maritime, broadcast, land mobile, utilities, and government radio infrastructure.
The fastest-growing path in commercial wireless. Required in every new building — hospitals, stadiums, airports, high-rises. First responder lives depend on this work.
From installation tech to certified specialist. Covers maritime, aeronautical, government, and commercial VSAT. High demand in defense, oil & gas, and maritime sectors.
For technicians entering defense, aviation avionics, and aerospace systems. Covers aircraft electronics systems, radar, RF tracking, and NCATT-recognized credentials.
Every course is built directly from the official FCC and ETA question pools. No guesswork. No outdated study guides. You train on what the exam tests.
Our instructors hold active FCC licenses and ETA certifications. Content is reviewed by working practitioners — not textbook authors.
Full-featured online training environment with progress tracking, practice exams, downloadable study materials, and proctored assessments — all in one place.
We understand MOS and AFSC codes. We translate military experience into civilian credentialing paths and help veterans close the paperwork gap.
We're authorized to administer FCC commercial radio operator license exams. Complete your training and sit for the exam through a single provider.
FCC licenses and ETA certifications follow you — not your employer. Every credential earned through Azimuth Academy belongs to you for life.
"Transitioned out after 12 years as an Army 25U. Azimuth Academy mapped my MOS directly to the GROL prep I needed. Passed on my first attempt. Now working for a defense contractor making more than I ever did in uniform."
"I already had my CET but needed the DAS certs to keep working in my market. The DASI and RFIM courses were exactly what I needed — built around the actual ETA competencies, not vague overviews."
"The GMDSS prep was comprehensive and the exam was right there on the platform. Within two weeks I had my DO license in hand. The maritime satcom follow-on was a natural next step."
